I wanted to share some information that’s been passed to us about caring for our childrens health at School. I’ve learned a lot from the article and the links; and I’m sure you will too.
Over thirty organisations including healthcare charities such as Diabetes UK, healthcare professionals and trade unions have joined together as members of the ‘Health conditions in Schools alliance’ (HCSA).
HCSA provides advice and guidance to Schools as well as lobbying Government for changes aimed at ensuring our children are safer in Schools through proper implementation of policies and procedures linked to healthcare.
Back in 2014 HCSA campaigned for the Government to amend the Children’s and families Act which now includes a duty on Schools to support children with health conditions.
‘When the Alliance asked in early 2017, only 11.5 per cent of schools in England could provide an adequate medical conditions policy that meets statutory guidance. All should by law have this policy.’
